How Do You Not Sell Your Soul On The Account Of Love?

If it’s a passion, it’s love! If it’s a truth, it’s love
If it’s a talent, it’s love!

How can you not lower your standards if you are true to self and true to what you love? Not for the greed, not for lust, and not because of envy. Only a temporary adjustment that alters the character of discipline.

If it’s a form of protection, it’s love! If it’s a lesson learned, it’s love!
If it’s a risk toward a better condition, it’s love!

How can you not lower your standards if you are true to self and true to what you love? Not for the greed, not for lust, and not because of envy. Only a temporary adjustment that alters the character of discipline.

If it’s to feed, clothe, and shelter a child, it’s love! If it’s a decision to balance out a median, it’s love! If it was a lie, for an unselfish purpose, it’s love!

How can you not lower your standards if you are true to self and true to what you love? Not for the greed, not for lust, and not because of envy.Only a temporary adjustment that alters the character of discipline.

A performance holding very little weight in justification. More times than less, forgiven as an acceptance from a greater meaning misunderstood.

Poetry - Upcoming Second Poetry Book

This was a poem I submitted in a poetry magazine: It will be in my second poetry book. I love basketball so I had to do it.

Swish

The highlight is the power of finishing

Engaged on a fast break 3 on 2

Or a 2 on 1 situation

Complete control in each dribble

Right to left, left to right

Driving to the basket

Options flashing quicker than every step

With questions bubbling from the adrenaline rush

There is a difference between skills and talent

Skills is what practice help develop over a period of time

Talent is the natural coordination of skills one is born with

The game is the happiness and competiveness of the challenge

Each minute adds on to the set time for 4 quarters

Strategy defines the better play book

Experience builds the confidence needed for the greatest performance

Some coaches says defense is the best offense

Some coaches expect education to be first priority

On court, man to man stimulates high intensity

A zone protects against deliberate penetration

Good sportsmanship reflect great character

Meaning accepting the win or loss after giving all within

Great leadership begins with great students

Students who listen follow directions, and trust the process

Every captain was that student at some point

The growth evolved into a unified body – the team

The collective, collaborate together in unison

Regulated in a organized manner playing under the whistle

Laying the ball up against the backboard with right or left

Or spreading the fingers on the ball for a jumpstart

Through the net-swish!!

Poetry - Social Climax Book pg. 73

2 Die 4

Music pumps through my veins.

I breathe it through my lungs into my brain.

I hear it when I sleep in a dream.

I see it in the food I eat, a natural high.

Yes! I'm addicted to the creative impulse.

Within my system that helps me channel.

A fine expression of wisdom, we close like family blood.

Sometimes we get wild and thug,

or be cool as mud.

Circulating invisible sound waves,

that help many change.

Calming that urge of stress,

We fight hard to maintain.

Lyrics To Go #5

Don't ever let a man / raise his hand to do you harm/

Don't never think he love you/ if he choose to do you wrong/

- "Premeditated Seeds (Lyrics)"

Poetry - Social Climax Book pg. 31

From Caterpillar To Butterfly

Turning every mistake into a productive experience

Elevates the level of decisions that are made

Freedome of Choice.

A change is necessary to create a new condition!

Whether they be ways of living or thinking,

That process begins within yourself - by yourself.

That's why I chose to transform so I can fly higher.

Than the sky's blue reflection.

Had a slow start/but now I'm gaining on'em/

I'm like a grey cloud/ in the sky raining on'em

Real Talk: Take #9

Question: What Country were you born?

Horizon: I was born in the United States.

Question: As a musician it is a job that requires a lot of studying, rehearsing, performing, and touring. Are you ready for that?

Horizon: I come to learn that as a professional barber and accountant they both require the same game plan to become successful. Music is something that I wished for as a kid so I am going to give it a go applying myself in a way no different from the time and energy used to become a barber and accountant.

Question: Sometimes it may require touring outside of the United States is that a problem for you?

Horizon: It is now 2016, and I never traveled outside of the United States. However I am definitely looking forward to it. I've heard a lot of stories about how other countries really enjoy most talent that comes from the United States. I am hoping to one day add to that positive impression only to be remembered always and forever.

Real Talk: Take #8

Question: For clarity purposes, word has it that you struggled for years to find the perfect name that fit who you are as a person, entertainer, and musician. Explain that process for us please?

Horizon: At first I would seek out a name that sounded cool at that present time versus a name that was different or represented me. The last change was dropping 730 off of Horizon. I called myself 730 Horizon, but now it's just Horizon. I figured since there was so many people or groups, having success using 730, it would only make sense choosing a name that represents the success suited for me in the present and future. I need a name I was comfortable with.

Question: So are you saying that your stage, musician, and artist name is Horizon

Horizon: Yes, the one and only ---- Horizon!

Real Talk: Take #2

Question:  What are some of your influences?

Horizon:  My influences was being in the moment and able to listen to when Record Labels were breaking a new artist or song. When I would watch Rap City after school with host Chris “The Mayor” Thomas or Joe Clair it was a great feeling. The songs were good. I enjoyed Big Tigga and Q-45 in the basement too!

Another would be when I would be out in the neighbor and a car would drive through playing something I never heard. Or somebody walking through with a boom box playing a new single or DJ Mixtape. I enjoyed more than less of songs coming out in the 80’s and 90’s. All I would be replaying in mind was the sound of the beats and lyrics.
